After the testimonies had been heard, songs had been sung: courtesy of Second Baptist Mass Choir, and a beautiful introduction by First Lady Daphne Milfeld--came a word from the Lord.
What a powerful word by Apostle Milhfeld, of Strong Tower Ministries. From the Book of Jonah, he took our focus from Jonah to the people on the boat. When the storms and drama of others threaten to rock our boat and keep you from your destiny--it's kick them off your boat, that they might live. This word has come twice to 2nd Baptist, maybe God is Trying to tell you something.
Tonite is the last nite of revival! Come out at 7:30 and enjoy what's in store for you. Joining the Apostle is STM Praise and Worship Team, under the able direction of Minister Tyrone Powell. Y'all bettah "sang!" Recapping the week:
More people would attend your community and church events, programs, and concerts--- if they only knew the dates, time and place. That information and your various opinions and observations can make this a very readable and active blog.

Nite 4 of the Revival: Rev. Phillip Atkins revisited the three Hebrew boys. You can't have a testimony without a test. Most memorable quote, "Sometimes the fire is to burn off the bindings." Backed by his choir, and awesome pianist/songtress, they rocked the house with songs that I haven't heard sung in years. All I can say is "Preach Preacher Preach."
The house went up when the Pastor and 1st Lady Werts walked into the service. Having been away to take of family business, they were able to put in their first appearance since the Revival started. We were so happy to see them.
Tonite's guest speaker is Apostle Kevin Milhfeld of Strong Tower Ministries, Stafford, VA. I have waited 365 days for tonite. (I love the "support Apostle at 2nd Baptist" page that was put up on Facebook.) It is wonderful to see a church support their pastor.
Come On Out and Join The Revival at 7:30. Bring your great expectations!

Let's Get Drunk
Night 3 of the Second Baptist Revival.
Rev. Philip Atkins of First Baptist Church stirred up the congregation with last nite's sermon.
The church needs to get drunk on the Spirit. If only the church could bring back more joy, be on one accord, want to gather together, sing a song of the Lord... His comparison on the behaviors of those drunk on wine, to the behaviors of those drunk on the spirit, gave everyone food (and drink) for thought. WOW.
The musical guest choir "Gospel Express" from Mangohick did an excellent job. Get out to Second Baptist tonite at 7:30pm, as Rev. Atkins presents his second sermon. I think it promises to be as thought provoking as last nite. I'm expecting more.
If you know of more church happenings or events, feel free to log in and blog in.

Sunday and Monday service featured guest speaker. Reverend Dr. Alfred Jones, Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Triangle, VA. Rev. Jones is a native of Caroline County.
Sunday afternoon's musical guest were his phenomenal Men's Choir. Not only were they beautifully suited, but they rocked the house with some good ole gospel music. Monday night's music was supplied by Second Baptist own Mass Choir---yeahhhh there were in the house.
Tonite and Wednesday night's speaker is Reverend Philip Atkins, First Baptist Church--Elmont from Ashland, VA.
Thursday and Friday nite Apostle Kevin Milhfeld of Strong Tower Ministry, Fredericksburg, VA will be in the house. What an awesome pastor, preacher, and singer. If you've never heard his minister of music, band and choir, be sure to attend and be prepared for music that ministers.
My goal is to be there EVERYNITE---I can't wait!
